When I say, you say #12: Cigarette
Kids, here's a new edition of When I say, you say, the game in which I say a word and you share your first (first) movie related thought. Titles, scenes, characters, passages from actors' biographies, etc, etc...
Hi, Clara, just wanted to let you know I've tagged you for an award: http://franklymydear-blog.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-liebster-blog-award-reprise.html. Pass it on if you wish :)
In Hitchcock's "The Birds", Tippi Hedren's elegant fingers holding a cigarette when she's being all coy talking to Rod Taylor in front of passed-over Susanne Pleshette.
Clara, it would be all too easy for me to cite every cigarette reference with so many smoke-laden movies, but I'm picking the funniest one: Norman Lear's dark comedy COLD TURKEY, about a town trying to win jackpot if they all quit smoking!
If you're interested, here's a link to my TALES OF THE EASILY DISTRACTED blogpost, a double-feature with both COLD TURKEY and THE LOST WEEKEND!
Now, Voyager -- "Don't let's ask for the moon. We have the stars."
ReplyDelete¡Hola Clara!
ReplyDeleteHay muchas películas pero la primera escena que me viene a la mente es la de La extraña pasajera con Davis y Henreid.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely James Dean, in which movie?? I don't know, I think that in a poster.
ReplyDeleteSaludos!!
..."Cigarette me, big boy!" ...one of the first lines Ginger had in her first 'feature' film, Young Man of Manhattan...
ReplyDeleteBette Davis (also in Now Voyager!)
