10.13.10: an unforgettable day

One of the many ways the press approached the story of the Chilean Miners was the numerology. If you add the numbers of the date when they were finally rescued, the result is 33. Watching the thirty three men of different ages and personalities, coming from the depths after being trapped for months was something that united people all over the world. I like that. These are stories that in their brighter side teach us how great human race can be. The miners gave us lessons of companionship, bravery and hope. The first day of communication they asked if one of their coworkers was alive and cheered when they got a positive answer; then, they all wanted to go last in the mission of rescue and stay together until they all were on the surface. These petitions, for health reasons, weren't allowed, but they showed the kind of people these miners are, the kind of people we all should be.
I couldn't see the final part of the rescue, because I was at the concert of Cate Blanchet-as Kate Hepburn-in "The Aviator"...

...a.k.a. Regina Spektor :) But she said that she was glad of being here in Chile in such a day. And I was glad to be there listening to her marvelous voice in such a day.

PS: Remember to participate in the poll, I'm closing it this weekend.
